The perfect orangery installation for everyone to enjoy
We were contacted regarding the proposed orangery function room at the Lodge Care Home in Exeter. The client was looking to use this as a functional family room for the residents and visitors at this popular care home. The orangery was required to be a usable room to match the size of the existing property and the rest of the ongoing extension to other areas of the building. Based on the large size, 12m by 7m, we worked closely with K2 conservatories architectural division and designed an aluminium orangery roof structure that would support the large glass lantern roof.
The client was very clear with the criteria right from the start; they wanted a room that was comfortable and usable all year round. With this in mind, we used Celsius One performance roof glass for the lantern roof. This keeps the room cool by reflecting the sun and unwanted glare. We also used the K2 aluminium roof system as this gives a higher quality finish and is extremely resistant against extreme weathers. Six electronically operated roof vents were installed with a climate control unit. The finished result is quite simply stunning and something we are very proud to have been a part of.
